Mediaeval Dancing

Saturday afternoon, weekdays evening at the Rathaus-Prunksaal

On the festive evenings bride and groom as well as their royal guests meet to dance. Solemn round dances and pavans of the period, reconstructed from the music scripts of famous contemporaries throughout Europe alternate with a dance to which the Emperor leads the bride, the dance of Polish nobles, and an exotic Moresca dance, which is depicted in Erasmus
Grasser‘s statuettes. And as a kind of gift from the bride’s Polish homeland ‘Lajkonik’ gallops onto the stage on his toy-horse, a legendary figure from Cracow‘s history.
