The eve of the wedding in Landshut

A concert of trumpet fanfares hails the opening of Friday evening at the camp. From all sides we hear the sounds of trumpet and busins. Groups of musicians go from table to table and play for the guests from near and far. Minstrels, mercenaries and jugglers seek to entertain the people. Comedians on three stages perform comical, frivolous and sometimes, plays to ponder on.

How did the knights dress? What did they have to put on? What type of strange musical instrument is that? Are the falcons really tame? And what’s that funny hat called that the duchess is wearing? Questions like these can all be answered on Friday evenings at the camp. With the introduction of our new attraction on Friday evenings, we hope to bring the guests and spectators nearer to the "Royal Wedding". We especially aim to give families a chance to enjoy the wedding in their own good time without hectic and stress. There is a special programme for the children organised by the town’s youth organisation called "Spuikistn" or "Playbox" Among other things the children have the chance to make their own knights helmets, play medeiaval games and the youngest can prove their skills as knights.

If all this is too loud, you can listen to a storyteller, and get lost in the world of fairytales and legends, just like the folks in 1475 loved to do.
Surely then, an evening like this is the best possible way to get into the mood for a turbulent and enjoyable "Landshuter Hochzeit" - weekend.
